Former Expedia CEO Dara Khosrowshahi is now officially Uber’s new CEO. He called the job “opportunity of a lifetime” in a recent interview. The news was announced in a letter to Uber employees by the by the company’s board of directors.
Uber was looking for a CEO after former Ceo Travis Kalanick resigned from his job under pressure of inverstors. Under khosrowashahi’s leadership, Expedia grew significantly, in part through acquisitions of other travel companies including Orbitz, Trivago , and HomeAway.

The new CEO can’t officially start his new job until september 5. but he got alot of big plans for the company. He is determined enough that company will go public in 18 months.
